Customer Testimonials: Selling 18 Karat Gold (18K) at ALLU
-
The staff at ALLU were incredibly helpful in explaining the assessment and current market prices, and I feel that they stand out among their competitors.
The item I brought to ALLU was an 18 Karat gold ring I bought while travelling abroad. It's been many years since I bought the ring, so I was sure I wouldn't get much, but ALLU pleasantly surprised me with their high offer that went way beyond what I'd been expecting. The staff at ALLU were incredibly honest and helpful in explaining details concerning the assessment and current market prices, and I feel that they stand out among their competitors. I was unaware that prices for precious metals have been skyrocketing lately, but I will definitely keep that in mind from now on when making purchases.
Thank you for selling your 18 Karat Gold at ALLU.
Gold has been used for decorative purposes throughout history due to its unique shine and corrosion resistance. However, in its pure form, gold is a very soft metal easily subject to scratches and dents, which can quickly deteriorate gold ornaments. Because of this, many gold items are mixed with silver, copper or platinum to create an alloy and thereby supplement the strength that pure gold lacks. 18 Karat gold is an alloy that contains 75% pure gold and is commonly used for gold jewellery. Regardless of age, 18 Karat gold draws considerable demand in today's market. At ALLU, we are focusing our efforts on 18K gold products and any products made with precious metals, the demand for which has seen a sharp incline in recent years. If you want to sell any other items, we hope you consider taking advantage of our services again. We look forward to your future visit.

I greatly enjoyed my time at ALLU.
This was my first time visiting a pre-owned goods trader, so I was a little nervous going in. However, the staff at ALLU broke everything down for me in their explanations and made sure I felt comfortable the entire time. I learned that, unlike antique pieces, items made with precious metals rarely lose value, even if they have suffered damage to some extent. We also talked for a while about brand-name and decorative items—I had a great time chatting. My husband has a large collection of vases, pottery and ceramics, so I plan to take some of them in for appraisal at ALLU. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Thank you for selling your 18 Karat Gold at ALLU.
One of our specialities at ALLU is gold products, so we were very grateful that you chose us to appraise your collection of gold items. 18 Karat gold is one of the most popular grades of gold, as it does not lose the original shine of pure gold. And because of its strengthened properties as an alloy, it is able to withstand damage to a higher degree than easily-dented pure gold. Moreover, due to its mixture with other metals such as silver, copper or nickel, 18 Karat gold can exhibit an array of colours that has gained popularity all throughout the world. Yellow gold, boasting a colour close to that of pure gold, is quite popular in Europe, while in Asia, a slightly reddish gold is more apt to draw the attention of consumers. Such are the subtle differences that occur in every regional market worldwide. It is interesting to note that the value of the same metal can vary so much based solely on factors such as ethnicity, culture or religion. At ALLU, we are welcome and actively make offers for not only 18 Karat gold but for a wide array of items, such as antiques and all varieties of precious metals. We hope you will consider bringing in items from your husband's collection that you mentioned, and we would be happy to assist you in appraising those items. Please do not hesitate to visit us in the future. We look forward to seeing you again.

Sell Your 18 Karat Gold at ALLU
Gold jewellery has long been admired for its beauty and impressive presence, after all, even a single, understated gold accessory can greatly enhance its wearer's appearance. Among the various grades of gold available, 18 Karat has become a mainstream option.
Although pure gold is incredibly valuable, its softness makes it prone to scratches and dents when used for ornamental purposes. To counteract this, pure gold is often mixed with other metals to create an alloy for jewellery and other ornamental applications. What makes 18K gold such an attractive option is that the relatively small amount of added metals lends it the durability needed for intricate designs while still retaining the heaviness and high-class feel of pure gold. 18K gold contains 75% pure gold (24K), meaning that only 25% of its composition comprises other metals. Although it is an alloy, it is incredibly valuable due to its high amount of pure gold. And thanks to its properties as an alloy, the type and proportion of other metals can lend it a pinkish tint to make popular pink gold or a slightly reddish tint that accents its original colour, creating yellow gold. It is also possible to use 18K gold for making white gold. The 18 Karat value can also be expressed as "K18" or "750." In France, the insignia of an eagle's head is considered proof of a gold's 18 Karat composition, though there are many 18 Karat gold items even without this insignia.
At ALLU, our knowledgeable and experienced staff members offer reliable assessments at optimum rates for gold items. We take extreme care and responsibility with the items that customers bring us, so rest assured that your pieces will be treated with the respect they deserve and assigned a competitive selling price.
ALLU Frequently Asked Questions
How do you decide the selling price of gold, platinum and other precious metal accessories?
We measure the items you bring to us and derive the appraisal value based on the market price x weight. However, in some cases, if the item possesses an exceptional design as jewellery, we may consider the additional value.
My gold/precious metal does not have any engravings. Can I still get it appraised and sell it?
Can I sell broken items such as broken necklaces, rings with missing stones, or earrings with one pair missing?
How long does it take for an appraisal at the store?
Do scratches and stains affect the selling price?
In the case of ingots, depending on their condition, they may be treated as scrap, which may significantly affect the selling price. For other precious metal products, we will have to actually observe the item in question before making a decision.
Can I sell old coins and foreign gold coins?
Some commemorative and foreign gold coins have a premium value, as they are hard to obtain due to their small circulation. If you bring such gold coins to us, they may be worth more than ordinary precious metals.
When is the best time to sell gold and precious metals?
However, the market price of gold and precious metals fluctuates daily, so it is very important to notice the timing when the market price is high.
Is the selling price different for ingots and gold jewellery?
Ingots have their own values and prices: we can make an offer at the ingot price if the brand is recognised in our regulations. On the other hand, even if it is 24-karat gold, gold jewellery is treated as scrap, so that the price will be slightly lower.
Is there a difference in selling price between ingots with and without engraving?
